 | W. McGuire, R. H. Gallagher and R. D.
Ziemian. " Matrix Structural Analysis", second
edition, John Wiley and Sons, 2000. On 2-hr reserve in the Engineering
Library under call number TA642 .M25 2000 |
 | L. P. Felton and R. B. Nelson. "Matrix
Structural Analysis", John Wiley and Sons, 1997. This is
a good text, but does not go far enough for this
course and students dislike the absence of numerical examples.

 | R.L. Sack. " Matrix Structural
Analysis", Waveland Press Inc, 1994.
A very good, albeit succinct, reference for
the direct stiffness method, but does not contain much else.

 | J.S. Przemieniecki, "Theory of Matrix
Structural Analysis", McGraw Hill, 1968.
This book is a classic; it contains a succinct but excellent presentation of
the displacement and force method of analysis. On 2-hr reserve in the
Engineering Library under call number TA642.P77 1968 |
 | R.K. Livesley, "Matrix Methods of
Structural Analysis", second edition, Pergamon Press,
1975. An excellent book, but very succinct and difficult to appreciate the
first time, it yields great insights after a few
attempts. On 2-hr reserve in the Engineering
Library under call number TA642 .L5 1975 |
 | B.G. Neal, "The
Plastic Methods of Structural Analysis", 3rd edition, Chapman and
Hall, 1977. A wonderful book on plastic analysis that explains the methods
in physical terms, but also offers hints of matrix implementation; on 2-hr
reserve in the Engineering Library under call number TA652.N43 1985 |
 | G. Strang,
"Linear Algebra and its Applications", 4th
edition, Thomson 2006. A wonderful book on linear algebra. The solution of
systems of linear equations is explained in the first two chapters and
serves very well the purposes of this course; on 2-hr reserve in the
Engineering Library under call number QA184.S8 1988 |
