Undergraduate Admissions
UC Berkeley offers the premier
education in civil and environmental engineering. Our graduates go on to become
leaders in the engineering profession, accomplished researchers,
decision-makers in government agencies, and in some cases to pursue careers in
business and law. Our accredited B.S. degree program is founded on knowledge in
the sciences and mathematics, engineering principles, engineering design, and
the relationships between engineered systems and economic and social factors.
State-of-the-art laboratories provide hands-on experience and there are many
opportunities for
undergraduate research with our outstanding faculty. ASCE and Chi Epsilon, our CEE
student organizations, are very active in career planning, mentoring, social
networking, and civil engineering competitions such as concrete canoe, steel
bridge and the environmental competition.
Entering freshman will begin the Fall 2008 curriculum.
The four-year core program features a
common first year curriculum for all
engineering freshman. Fall 2009 junior transfer students can
choose to follow the four-year degree , but are highly encouraged to move to the new curriculum as it
allows more choice in upper division technical electives.
Admission to the Civil
Engineering undergraduate major is conducted through the Office of
Undergraduate Admission and Relations with Schools.
