Undergraduate Admissions
UC Berkeley offers the premier
education in civil and environmental engineering. Our graduates go on to become
leaders in the engineering profession, accomplished researchers,
decision-makers in government agencies, and in some cases to pursue careers in
business and law. Our accredited B.S. degree program is founded on knowledge in
the sciences and mathematics, engineering principles, engineering design, and
the relationships between engineered systems and economic and social factors.
State-of-the-art laboratories provide hands-on experience and there are many
opportunities for
undergraduate research with our outstanding faculty. ASCE and Chi Epsilon, our CEE
student organizations, are very active in career planning, mentoring, social
networking, and civil engineering competitions such as concrete canoe, steel
bridge and the environmental competition.
Beginning in Fall of 2007, entering freshman will begin a new curriculum.
The revised four-year core program now features a
common first year curriculum for all
engineering freshman. However Fall 2007
junior transfer students will continue to follow the original four-year degree plan.
Admission to the Civil
Engineering undergraduate major is conducted through the Office of
Undergraduate Admission and Relations with Schools.
In addition, the College of
Engineering maintains a web site that provides information
about the College of Engineering and admissions.
