PhD students Henry Kagey and Vivek Rao, together with their academic advisor Professor Slav Hermanowicz and business mentor Alex Luce, won a National Science Foundation Innovation Corps (I-Corps) grant to develop further and potentially commercialize a solar-driven greywater reclamation and heat capture system.
Kagey is in the CEE Systems Engineering program and Rao is a Mechanical Engineering student.
I-Corps is a set of activities and programs that prepares scientists and engineers to extend their focus beyond the laboratory and broadens the impact of select, NSF-funded, basic-research projects.
The prototype of the team's system is a result of a previous NSF grant in the Emerging Frontiers in Research and Innovation (EFRI) program.
