SEMM Community Honors Graduates at Annual Luncheon

Featured Faculty: Edward L. Wilson

The SEMM Graduate Student Luncheon is an annual tradition where SEMM faculty and friends gather to acknowledge the achievements of graduate students who will commence in May and to wish them well in their future endeavors.

The May 2 event featured SEMM alumnus Ashraf Habibullah (CE MS '70), founder and CEO of Computers & Structures, whose structural engineering software is used in over 160 countries.

Ashraf gave an inspired speech about the contributions of structural engineers to the well-being of society and the importance of explaining their unique contributions to the general public so their value can be better appreciated.

At the conclusion of the gathering, graduating students each received the much revered SEMM paperweight plus signed copies of the text "Static and Dynamic Analysis of Structures" by Professor
Emeritus Ed Wilson.
