Honoring Professor Robert E. Selleck at Memorial

On March 15, friends, colleagues, former students and staff of Professor Emeritus Robert Selleck gathered at the Berkeley Faculty Club to recognize Selleck’s many contributions to engineering and the deep impact he had on his graduate students throughout his career.

Colleagues offered testimonials to Bob Selleck’s dedication to rigorous data analysis, appropriate analytical modeling, and his clear explanations. Former research students, some traveling from as far away as the East Coast and France, spoke to being initially taken aback by Selleck’s intensity in research, but they uniformly acknowledged his guidance and professionalism in starting them on their research, teaching, and engineering careers.

Everyone agreed that Bob Selleck was a unique individual who made significant and lasting contributions to the environmental engineering program at Berkeley and to the specialization of water and wastewater treatment processing.

A special thank you to alumni John Gaston and Rick Sakaji who were instrumental in planning the event.
