Gregory Fenves Named Provost at UT Austin

Gregory L. Fenves, former faculty member and chair of CEE, as well as CEE alumnus, has been named the executive vice president and provost at the University of Texas at Austin.

Fenves has been dean of the Cockrell School of Engineering since 2008. He was CEE chair from 2002-2007. He was on the faculty of UC Berkeley for more than 20 years and during his tenure he was a key contributor and member of the research committee for the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center, a multi-disciplinary center funded by the National Science Foundation.
