Julia Morgan, American architect, first woman architect licensed in California, and a graduate of Berkeley's Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, received the highest honor an American architect can win--the American Institute of Architects 2014 Gold Medal. And once again, she becomes the first woman to do so.
