Construction Team Competes in Regional ASC Competition

CEE's Construction Team competed in the 2014 Associated Schools of Construction Region 6 & 7 Student Competition earlier this month in Reno, Nevada.

Working 16 hours straight, the Berkeley team did well in the Virtual Design and Construction, Design Build, and Commercial categories. Judges, coaches, and recruiters were impressed by the teams' hard work. The students had the invaluable opportunity to share ideas and knowledge with over 1000 students from schools across the country.

CEE's team is grateful for the support of their architecture master’s student coaches and industry coaches from DPR Construction, Swinerton Builders, Turner Construction, and Skanska Construction—most of whom are Berkeley alumni who had competed in this same competition during their time at Berkeley. The team also receive significant financial support from the Construction Employers' Association. (Thank you all!")

"All of this would not have been possible without the support of these coaches," says Ivan Chen, the team's Project Manager.

The team's advisor is Professor Iris Tommelein.

ASC is the professional association for the development of construction education.
