On April 3-5, CEE's Steel Bridge Team placed first in the annual ASCE Mid-Pacific Regional Conference steel bridge competition hosted at California State University, Fresno. Berkeley placed first in aesthetics, lightness, and efficiency, which gave them first place overall. UC Davis placed second, and Tongji University placed third.
The top 2 teams will advance to the national competition in Akron, Ohio, on May 23-24.
Berkeley won the last 2 national championships (2013, 2012). (See National Champion Steel Bridge Team--2 Years in a Row! [video])
