Becker to Receive Award for Geophysical Paper

Professor Alex Becker of the GeoEngineering group, along with coauthors Kaushik Das and Ki Ha Lee, will receive the Eötvös Loránd Award from the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers for their recent paper, entitled "Experimental validation of the wavefield transform of electromagnetic fields." The paper was published in the journals Geophysical Prospecting and First Break in September 2002. The Eötvös Loránd Award is given to the best paper from the journals that is of high scientific standard and makes a significant contribution to the geosciences and engineering disciplines. Presentation of the award will take place this June during the Annual Conference of the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers in Stavanger, Norway.
