Concrete Canoe Team Takes First Place at Regionals
Cal's Concrete
Canoe Team scored first out of eight teams at this year's ASCE
Mid-Pacific Regional Competition in Sacramento on April 10th. The
Berkeley entry beat out San Jose State and the University of Nevada
at Reno for the top slot, winning seven of the eight categories.
"Bearied Treasure" had the best design paper and the best
presentation, and the team led the pack in all sprint and endurance
races in the water.
Berkeley's Steel
Bridge entry came in third place overall in the competition,
beating out five other teams.
As the winner of the regionals, the California Concrete Canoe will
go on to compete in the 18th Annual National Concrete Canoe Competition
in Clemson, South Carolina in June 2005.
Congratulations to the Concrete Canoe and Steel Bridge Teams!
