Professor Chopra is Honored with Appointments

Professor Anil Chopra, Horace, Dorothy, and Katherine Johnson Professor of Engineering of the Structural Engineering, Mechanics and Materials program, recently received recognition from two professional organizations. Chopra was made an Honorary Member of the International Association for Earthquake Engineering (IAEE), as well as a Fellow of the Structural Engineers Association of California (SEAOC). The objective of the IAEE is to promote international cooperation among scientists, engineers and other professionals in the broad field of earthquake engineering through interchange of knowledge, ideas, results of research and practical experience. SEAC's mission is to advance the profession of structural engineering, to encourage research, and to provide the most current information to practicing engineers.
