Professor Monismith Receives Honorary Doctorate

Professor Carl Monismith, Professor in the Graduate School and Director of the UC Berkeley Pavement Research Center, was awarded an honorary Doctor of Engineering degree by Carleton University in Ottowa, Canada. Monismith was presented with the degree at a ceremony in Ottowa on November 14th "in recognition of a distinguished contribution as a researcher and educator in the field of civil engineering, with particular reference to pavement technology."

Professor Monismith has been a faculty member at Cal for more than 50 years. His work in pavement design and rehabilitation and asphalt paving technology has garnered him worldwide recognition.
