U.S. News Rates CEE Program #1 for Fourth Year in a Row

U.S. News and World Report magazine has rated UC Berkeley's graduate program in Civil Engineering as the best in the nation for 2004. The department was also ranked first from 2001-2003. The graduate program in Environmental Engineering was rated by the magazine as number two in the nation. Berkeley was also ranked first in undergraduate civil engineering programs offered by schools with Ph.D. programs for 2004.

The annual ratings are based on a combination of factors including student/faculty ratios, number of Ph.D. degrees awarded, faculty membership in the National Academy of Engineering, research funding, and peer and recruiter assessments.
