Biography

Mark Hansen is a Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UC Berkeley. Hansen’s research focuses on urban transportation planning, modeling air transport systems, air traffic flow management, and aviation systems performance analysis. He is the Berkeley co-director of the National Center of Excellence in Aviation Operations Research, a multi-university consortium sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration. Hansen also received the Horonjeff Award for his research work in air transport in 1985.

Mark Hansen’s research focuses on urban transportation planning, modeling air transport systems, air traffic flow management, aviation systems performance analysis, aviation safety, aviation environmental analysis, and air transport economics.
