1) What is your conception of "sustainable agriculture"? (i.e. what sorts of issues or concerns in agriculture should be addressed if agriculture is to be sustainable? What role do organics play in this sustainable agriculture system? Do they meet all of your concerns for sustainability?) 2) Do you think modern technology (e.g. nitrogen fertilizers, pesticides, mechanization) is necessary or beneficial for sustainable agriculture? 3) Wal-Mart has recently announced that they are making a major push to move towards offering many more organic products. Do you think the involvement of Wal-Mart and other similar corporations in organic food moves towards or away from greater agricultural sustainability? |
