Certificate Program in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
Jointly sponsored by the Department of Civil and Environmental
Engineering, the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer
Science and Mechanical Engineering, the Certificate Program in
Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) is designed to assist students
to study ITS in a systematic and focused way. Faculty advisors help
students design a personalized study program to meet their goals. The
Certificate provides formal recognition to students who achieve a basic
understanding and expertise in the ITS field.
REQUIREMENTS
The requirements may be updated and modified periodically to adapt to
changes in course offerings and programmatic directions.
A. Students will complete a minimum of thee courses from the following
offerings (two courses must be outside of their home department):
Artificial Intelligence: CS 188, 281A, 281B
Civil Systems: CE 271, 290I, 291F
Communications: EE 122, 224, 228A, 228B
Control: ME 134, 230, 232, 233, 234, 237

Sensor Technology: EE 192, 290G
Systems: EE 221A, 221B, 222, 223, 226A
Transportation Engineering: CE 255, 259, 260
B. Students are required to take:
CE251: Operation of Transportation Facilities
CE253: Intelligent Transportation Systems

APPLYING AND GETTING THE CERTIFICATE
No formal application is required.
Certificate information available on Departmental websites.
Students complete the course requirements, and bring copies of their
transcripts showing completion of the courses to the Program
Coordinator Program coordinator prints certificate and sends a note to
the student file. |
