Undergraduate Curriculum Transition Notes

  • If you are a freshman entering UC Berkeley in fall 2008, you are expected to follow the Fall 2008 Curriculum.

  • If you are a junior transfer student entering UC Berkeley in fall 2008, you will be held to the curriculum of the year that you began your community college studies. However, you can choose to follow the Fall 2008 Curriculum, if doing so will not delay graduation.

  • Continuing or transfer students who wish to switch to the Fall 2008 Curriculum should see Joan Chamberlain, Undergraduate Advisor, in 750 Davis Hall. You will need to complete a worksheet in order to determine if you are eligible to switch to the Fall 2008 Curriculum.

  • If you are a current CEE student with sophomore, junior, or senior status in fall 2008, you can choose to continue to follow the curriculum of the fall semester in which you entered UC Berkeley OR you can follow the new Fall 2008 Curriculum, if doing so will not delay graduation.

  • If you are a student transferring into CEE from another UC Berkeley college, and you have at least sophomore status, you can choose to follow the curriculum of the semester in which you began your studies at Berkeley OR follow the new Fall 2008 Curriculum, if doing so will not delay graduation.

  • Under the Fall 2008 Curriculum, you are no longer required to take 12 units of your 15 units of upper division engineering electives from courses offered within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. You may take all 15 units from courses offered within the College of Engineering.

  • Required courses in the old curriculums that will be discontinued, substantially changed, or renumbered will be offered for the last time in their old format and with the old number according to the following plan:
