CEE Professional Development Certificate Program
The CEE Professional Development Certificate Program is intended to develop the professional skills (team building, communications, and leadership) of undergraduate students through selected elective coursework, DeCal courses, seminars and workshops, participation in CEE student groups and competition teams, and industry experience (through externships and internships). Students who exhibit exceptional leadership qualities are eligible for a Leadership Award.
The Certificate Program is optional and open to any undergraduate civil and environmental engineering student. There is no separate admissions process. The Certificate Program requires 5 units of course work (CE 92, CE 192, and E 190), 2 units of DeCal courses (CE 98 and CE 198), and participation in extracurricular activities. Leadership Award
Students who complete the Professional Development Certificate Program and exhibit exceptional leadership skills are eligible for the Leadership Award. To receive the Leadership Award a student must hold one of the following positions:
- An officer of ASCE or Chi Epsilon
- A team leader in one of the student groups
- Selected to present a Summer Internship Project at a CEE Internship Conference
- Other approved position (e.g., other campus organizations)
