Program Components
CE 92: Introduction to Civil and Environmental Engineering
CE 192: The Art and Science of Civil and Environmental Engineering Practice
CE 98: Civil and Environmental Engineering Professional Certification 1 (DeCal)
CE 198: Civil and Environmental Engineering Professional Certification II (DeCal)
E 190: Technical Communication
A winter externship (administered by UCB Career Center, 1-5 days over Winter Break)
A summer internship (administered by UCB Career Center)
In addition, students will be required to complete the following:
Management Skills
- Supervision role on a student competition team, ASCE, or Chi Epsilon OR
- Attendance of a campus workshop on mentoring or Center for Entrepreneurship and
Technology (CET) course.
Communications Skills
- Presentation at a CEE Internship Conference (to be held in conjunction with CEE Career
Fair) OR
- Presentation at a Research Conference OR
- Presentation at Fall or Spring College of Engineering Research Poster Session OR
- Other approved presentation (e.g., presentation in a senior design course).
Team Building Skills
- Year-long participation on a student team.
Notification of Completion
Fill out the Notification of Completion form and submit it to the CEE
Academic Affairs Office, 750 Davis Hall, by the end of the semester in
which the certificate is to be awarded.
Students may request that a substitution for a program component be
considered. Please attach a statement outlining how the substitution
meets the component requirement.
