Kate Huckelbridge

Kate Huckelbridge is in her fourth year as a graduate student at University of California, Berkeley. She completed a master’s degree in 2003 and is pursuing a PhD in environmental engineering. She passed her qualifying exam and advanced to candidacy in winter 2005. Her research focuses on salt dynamics in non-riparian, freshwater wetlands. Specifically, she is investigating the factors controlling mixing and transport of salts in non-riparian, freshwater wetlands, the exchanges of water and salt across the soil/water interface and the effects of wetland management on salt dynamics in wetlands. In addition to her research, Kate is an active member and past president of Berkeley’s chapter of Engineers for a Sustainable World. She is also co-facilitating a DeCal class in spring of 2005 entitled: Create a Sustainability and Appropriate Design Class for UCB (CE 98 / E198).
