Experience:

  • Raines, Melton & Carella, Inc.  (May 2000 – August 2000, May 2001 – August 2001)
    Consulting Intern.  Involved with various large-scale environmental engineering projects including watershed Best Management Plan for Pajaro Valley, the design and construction of a 16-mile transmission pipeline, the seismic retrofit of a dam, and the recycled water feasibility study of an existing wastewater treatment plant. (Lafayette, CA)

  • Rizzo Associates, Inc.  (June 1999 – December 1999)
    Consulting Intern.  Assisted with various transportation engineering projects. Completed a number of Traffic Impact Studies including: contracting with clients, conducting background research and data collection, using software applications for data analysis, formulating recommendations to clients, producing professional reports. (Boston, MA)

  • MIT Technology, Business, and Environment Program  (January 1999 – May 1999)
    Policy Research Assistant. Researched environmental codes of practice established by trade associations, methods of enforcement, and effectiveness of self-regulation in various industries. (Cambridge, MA)

  • MIT Department of Environmental Engineering  (January 1998 – May 1998)
    Lab Technician/Data Analyst. Designed, performed, and analyzed experiments to study the accumulation and movement of DNAPLs (Dense Non-Aqueous Phase Liquids) through experimental simulations of fracture networks in rocks. Observed behavior using a geotechnical centrifuge.  (Cambridge, MA)
