Education

Biography

Long Nguyen is currently working as a construction consultant at Jax Kneppers Associates, Inc. in Walnut Creek, California. He holds a BEng in Civil Engineering at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Vietnam, 01/1999), an MEng at Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) (Thailand, 04/2003), and MSc and PhD at the University of California, Berkeley (05/2005 and 12/2007, respectively). He was awarded the Mahesh Varma Prize for the most outstanding academic performance among students in his field of study at AIT. He worked in the construction industry as a structural designer and then a site engineer from 01/1999 to 08/2001. From 07/2003 to 03/2004, he worked in Hong Kong as a research assistant at the Department of Building and Construction, City University of Hong Kong.

 

He has been in the U.S since 06/2004. He attended an English for Specific Purposes program in summer 2004 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Since Fall 2004, he has been a doctoral student at the Engineering and Project Management Program, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of California, Berkeley.
