Jon Bray to give the Ishihara Lecture at the Intl. Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering

Featured Faculty: Jonathan D. Bray

Jonathan Bray, Faculty Chair in Earthquake Engineering Excellence, will present the 6th Ishihara Lecture on September 19, 2017 at the 19th International Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering held in Seoul, Republic of Korea. The Ishihara Lecture is one of the Honours lectures of this international conference.

Professor Bray's lecture is entitled: “Simplified procedure for estimating liquefaction-induced building settlement.”

The International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering’s Technical Committee on Earthquake Geotechnical Engineering and Associated Problems (TC203) sponsors a lecture in the honor of Professor Kenji Ishihara, who is one of the pioneers of geotechnical earthquake engineering.

To acknowledge his significant accomplishments, the TC203 committee established an invited lecture and keynote paper to recognize an outstanding geotechnical engineer for his or her contributions in the area of earthquake geotechnical engineering.
