MidPac 2020

In 2020 it will be Berkeley's turn to host the annual ASCE Mid-Pacific Regional Conference (MidPac). At MidPac, over 150 teams from regional universities come together for a weekend of learning and friendly competition.

Our Cal ASCE students are excited at the prospect of putting on a premier competition but are challenged by the higher cost that goes with hosting the competition in the Bay Area.  Rentals, logistics, hotels, competition supplies, safety inspections, parking, signage, catering, the awards banquet—you name it—and it costs more here.

Without outside funding, some costs will have to be passed on to student attendees in the form of higher registration fees.  Higher fees limit the number of students who can participate.

We want the invaluable MidPac experience to be accessible to as many students as possible!

We ask you, our friends, to help defray the cost of hosting the conference so that everyone has the opportunity to compete and learn.

What MidPac means to students

Hagen TamThe past two years that I have been at MidPac were the most invaluable and memorable experiences in my college career. MidPac helped me improve my public speaking skills and learn how to write appeals.

I met students on other teams and from other schools, and bonded with my own teammates as we cheered on our paddlers.
