Liya Weldegebriel wins an Outstanding Student Presentation Award (OSPA) at last year's American Geophysical Union conference.
Her paper was titled "What determines the success of soil and water conservation practices? A case study from the Tana and Beles sub-basins, Ethiopia." Faculty adviser: Sally Thompson
These honors are awarded to only the top 5% of students, and there were over 5000 student presenters judged last year.
