Dr. Yousef Bozorgnia's Adjunct Professor appointment has been approved, effective 7/1/12-6/30/15. Dr. Bozorgnia will contribute to the instructional program in Structural Engineering, Mechanics, and Materials (SEMM).
Dr. Bozorgnia is currently Executive Director of the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center (PEER), at UC Berkeley. He received his PhD from the CEE department at UC Berkeley over 30 years ago and has been an active researcher and consultant on ground motion hazard and earthquake engineering.
In 2004, Professor V.V. Bertero and Dr. Bozorgnia published a book entitled “Earthquake Engineering: From Engineering Seismology to Performance-Based Engineering.” Dr. Bozorgnia has been a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) since 1998.
