Christina Poindexter Named Tien Scholar for 2012-2013

Christina Poindexter, Environmental Engineering PhD student, is one of 6 recipients of the prestigious Chang-Lin Tien Graduate Fellowship in the Environmental Sciences for 2012-13. She is part of CEE's Environmental Fluid Mechanics and Hydrology research group. Her advisor is Professor Evan Variano.

The Chang-Lin Tien Graduate Fellowship in the Environmental Sciences provides fellowships for graduate students studying issues related to the environment at UC Berkeley. Students are nominated to receive the award on the basis of their high level of academic distinction and exceptional promise.

The fellowship is named in honor of the late Dr. Chang-Lin Tien, one of the most popular and respected leaders in American higher education and an engineering scholar of international renown.
