Jon Bray Receives Ralph B. Peck Award

Featured Faculty: Jonathan D. Bray

Professor Jon Bray, Faculty Chair in Earthquake Engineering Excellence, was awarded the 2013 Ralph B. Peck Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers. Professor Bray teaches in the CEE Geo-engineering program.

He received the award for his insights regarding liquefaction and its effects on structures through case histories in Turkey as documented in papers such as "Assessment of Liquefaction Susceptibility of Fine-Grained Soils" and for many contributions to documenting field performance following earthquakes.

The Peck Award recognizes outstanding contributions to the geotechnical engineering profession through the publication of a thoughtful, carefully researched case history or histories, or the publication of recommended practices or design methodologies based on the evaluation of case histories
