Hassan Astaneh-Asl Selected as Fulbright Scholar

Professor Hassan Astaneh has been selected as a 2013-14 Fulbright US Scholar. Using this prestigious grant, he will spend a sabbatical semester at Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. There he will conduct research with colleagues on the protection of tall buildings and long span bridges against long distance earthquakes.

Fulbrighters foster international understanding and long-term cooperation through their research and they are renown for the qualities of service, excellence and leadership. As a grantee, Astaneh joins the ranks of approximately 300,000 distinguished participants in the Fulbright Program since its inception 60 years ago.

Professor Astaneh teaches courses in CEE's Structural Engineering, Mechanics and Materials program.
