Jack Moehle in "Reducing the Risk of Earthquake Collapse in California Cities"

Featured Faculty: Jack P. Moehle

CEE Professor Jack Moehle is featured in a Contra Costa Times editorial urging cities to take action to mitigate losses from older concrete structures in future earthquakes.

Moehle was part of a team of researchers that has investigated the seismic risks posed by concrete buildings constructed before 1980 as part of a study supported by the National Science Foundation.

The research team includes Berkeley Architecture Professor Mary Comerio, UCLA CEE Chair Professor Jonathan P. Stewart, and San Jose State University Engineering Professor Thalia Anagnos.
