David Jenkins Elected to AAEES Honorary Lifetime Membership

CEE Professor Emeritus David Jenkins was elected to Honorary Life Membership in the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists in recognition of "his position of eminence in the environmental engineering and science field and his sustained contributions to the advancement of environmental engineering and science."

Jenkins has researched and published widely in environmental engineering. His major areas of research are biological wastewater and sludge treatment processes, water and wastewater chemistry and microbiology. In his professional work, Jenkins specializes in the upgrading and troubleshooting of wastewater treatment plants and in environmental and process problems involving his expertise in chemistry and microbiology.

Jenkins is the author of more than 250 publications and reports and the co-author of 4 texts. He is a member of the US National Academy of Engineering and an Honorary Member of the CEE Academy of Distinguished Alumni.
