The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions having an anticipated start date of September 1, 2019. These positions are part of a strategic expansion intended to support research and teaching activities of the Advanced Infrastructure Group in the broad areas of structural engineering and mechanics, civil engineering materials, and transportation. Candidates with specialization in computational mechanics, data analytics, machine learning, resilient infrastructure systems, intelligent infrastructure, and sustainable urban engineering are especially encouraged to apply.
An earned doctorate in civil engineering or a closely related field is required. Interested applicants should submit: (1) cover letter, (2) CV, (3) teaching statement, (4) research interests and future plans, (5) statement of diversity and inclusion, (6) copies of three representative publications, and (7) the names and contact information for at least three references.
