CEE's 2019 Environmental Team, OskiClean, earned second place at the Mid-Pacific Regional Competition's (Mid-Pac)) Environmental Team Competition. Competitors race against the clock to build their systems and treat 9 gallons of wastewater for use after a tropical storm in only 20 minutes.
Student Amanda Lee shared, "Enviro's team OskiClean successfully designed and built a filter that could provide potable water in 20-minutes. Our filter was made out of sustainable household materials and built by one person alone! Our team of over 75% new members worked hard to learn water treatment concepts and helped us come out on top! We placed 2nd and hope to win it all next year when UC Berkeley hosts Midpac 2020! We couldn't have done it without the hard work of our members and our dedicated lab and faculty advisors."
