The CEE Advisory Council hosted an informational panel event for undergraduate students on Thursday, February 15th, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm in Davis Hall for undergraduate students. The event was meant to help strengthen connections between the department, students, and the Advisory Council and featured geotech speaker Bahareh Heidarzadeh from ENGEO.

Bahareh joined ENGEO in 2016 after graduating from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a Ph.D. in Geotechnical Earthquake Engineering. She also holds a master's degree in structural engineering from UCLA, and her undergraduate studies were in Iran. Her experience includes tall buildings, schools, and hospitals, extensive earthworks projects in the Bay Area, waterfront projects along San Francisco Bay, and public projects such as power transmission lines. She also has extensive experience in earthquake engineering, including ergodic and non-ergodic seismic hazard analysis and ground motion studies for new development and seismic retrofit projects in California, New Zealand, and South Korea. Bahareh has also provided expert witness services related to legal issues for various projects in California.
