The California Shore and Beach Preservation Association established an endowed scholarship, the Robert L. Wiegel Scholarship for Coastal Studies, in honor of Professor Emeritus Robert L. Wiegel.
Annual awards of $1,000 are made to students pursuing graduate marine studies at a California university or college whose work best exemplifies the passion for coastal science/engineering that has typified the ongoing career work of Robert Wiegel.
