Don't miss the chance to take CE 198 in Spring 2011!

In late 2008, two ASCE students asked: “What do we need to know now that will help us to become leaders in our future CEE careers?” The answer was CE 198: Professional Aspects in Civil & Environmental Engineering.

Now in its third year, CE 198, a DeCal class organized and run by students under the sponsorship of a faculty member, will consist of a series of lectures led by friends from industry and government. Each lecturer will provide a presentation followed by a facilitated class discussion on the lecture topic. The objective of this course is to help students think critically about their careers, their goals, and some of the skills they will need to develop to be successful in the civil and environmental engineering industry.

An introduction CE 198 will be given on Monday, February 14 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in 534 Davis Hall.  Following classes will be held on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. Find out more about the class at CalASCE.org. Students who wish to take the course should sign up via telebears (CCN: 14124) and attend the introductory class.

CE 198 was developed in 2009 by ASCE students in collaboration with the CEE Advisory Council and CEE alumni from industry. It fulfills partial requirements of the Professional Development Certificate Program, as well as CE 192 and Chi Epsilon Pledge requirements.
